What is cupping therapy?

Cupping therapy is also known as myofascial decompression. It is a technique that uses suction to improve blood flow and potentially promote healing. During a session, a therapist places special cups on your skin. Suction is initiated by using a pump, which helps to create a vacuum between the skin and underlying tissues, in a manner that is the reverse of traditional massage therapy.

As a result, the area is flooded with fresh blood that is rich in nutrients and oxygen. These healing elements work to heal the tissues so that the pain and stiffness you feel is relieved.

How can cupping help me with my pain?

Cupping is popular with athletes, and can help reduce chronic areas of fascial tension, stress, and tightness. However, it’s helpful for anyone experiencing chronic pain, discomfort, or soreness.
